Configuring Mal's
Log into your Mal's Account. Click on Cart Setup. Select payment methods. The Payments link allows you to configure whether you accept checks, money orders. To configure PayPal, select that option. Enter your PayPal account id in the space provided, this will be an email address you have on file with PayPal. You must have your PayPal account already setup. Depending on your PayPal setup, select from the next four items. Normally Website Payments Standard is sufficient. Under the Website Standard Tab, select "return the customer direct to your website using the return link from your cart-setup. The GET request, like an ordinary hyperlink should be checked. We recommend checking the box IPN Instant Payment Notification so you will receive order confirmations via email. Specify your Shipping and Tax Values, and your Product Description information.
DO NOT place a LOGO in the Logo for PayPal unless you have it hosted securely. Securely hosted logos would be in the https:// format.
Authorization and Capture should be set to Authorize AND Capture.
For other payment methods, you will need to contact MAL's or the specific payment method provider.
After configuring payments, Configure your Sales Tax Selection. Then you will need to configure your shipping. Both Taxes AND Shipping are set to charge NOTHING until you set these options up, so BE SURE TO DO that. And ALWAYS RUN a test order. Then compare the rates figured to those at for example www.usps.com, allowing for any optional handling fees that you have opted to charge when you set it up. There are 8 methods for calculating your shipping costs. There is also an add-on for the cart that uses Real Time Ship Rates for USPS, UPS, FEDEX, DHL, etc. using the product weights assigned to your products. Please contact us for information on the Add-On module. The setup for the shipping depends on the method you select.
Discounts, Customize, Emails, Advanced are all self explanatory. You can find a great deal of setup information on the Mal's Site itself. ALWAYS run a test order to be sure your cart is working correctly. Create a product and price it less than a dollar for testing purposes. You can always delete the product after you test your configuration.
If your orders are not showing up within the builder, on the left hand side, under ORDERS, log into your MAL's account. Click on Advanced Settings, Remote Call IPN, and in the URL field type in YOURWEBSITE.com/go/finish.php (DO NOT USE http://). For example, if your site is penneylayne.com, you would type in: penneylayne.com/go/finish.php. Then for METHOD, select POST from the dropdown. Debug should only be used temporarily, and only if experiencing problems with inventory control. Place a test order with pay method set to Money Order (to avoid a PayPal transaction) and then check the ORDERS section within the builder. The order should show up then.
